10 years have gone after the planting of the 1st tree for the people’s medicinal tree garden. A special meeting of the executive committee of The National Library was met for the purpose of celebrating the 10th anniversary of peoples tree garden. The president and secretary of Nattuvettam – Gramasakyam are consecutively the Vice president and President of the Library at present.
It was decided to create a ‘star botanic garden’ in 2 acres of in the MVIP muck dumped yard near by the tunnel inlet in the memory of the 10th anniversary. The committee also decided to extent this project to more places including urban areas. such a vast expansion of the project wants much attention and concentration. NALPA TREE has its own limits to take up such a big venture which needs a systematic approach and functioning. so the Library and Nalpa Tree decided to support the movement from outside as a sister organization.
That is how the movement assumed an organised form in the name of TREE and registered as an independant NGO in the most auspicious moment of the century 12-12-12 at 12 minutes and 12 seconds Past 12 noon. 5 persons were signed before the Registrar as Board of Directors. We humbly put their names here merely for information and authenticity.
